Web 2.0 and Y-o-u (part 2)

As mentioned in the Web 2.0 and Y-o-u (part 1) post Cool Hand Nuke is expanding its presence into other Web 2.0 websites.

I hope that you have taken some time to explore these sites as well as our pages and groups on them.  If you did a couple of quick searches or if you looked around a bit; it is highly likely that you saw an old co-worker, current friend or someone with whom you have wanted to make contact.  Cool Hand Nuke exists simply to allow a safe, easily recognizable place where those connections can be made.

What type and how many connections is up to you.  In a Web 2.0 world you may give some help, you may get some help, you may even have some fun; but it all comes down to this in the end, if you’re not there then you’re missing out on a whole new world where virtual connections and friendships are being made.

And while this may not seem like much now think of it in the context of a game that we’ll call Life.  In this game the victor enjoys the spoils as she moves along her path.

It’s your game and though it is a highly interactive game filled with other players, trials and tribulations; it is not a ‘you versus them’ game.  Not if you don’t want it to be.  You don’t have to lose so that others can win.  Others don’t have to lose in order for you to win.  At least not always.  You don’t like the way somebody plays, move on.  No sense wasting your precious time and nuclear energy.

This game is kind of like a casino.  There can and will be multiple winners.  You just have to play your cards right.Web 2.0 is not about what you’re giving up; it’s about what you’re getting.

If you’re not engaged then you’re missing out in the areas of news, views, scuttlebutt, and jobs.  You’re ability to reconnect with old friends and the ability to new friends is curtailed.  It’s simply harder to do what you’re already doing anyway.  That’s working harder and longer but much less smarter.

It’s as easy as this - no matter how you define winning in this game of Life, if you’re going to win it; you have to be in it.  Web 2.0 is a part of Life.

The first step for any player is showing up.

Start slow, look around and explore; you can always delete your account and be none the worse off.  One last note about this game – any player can participate at any time according to her level of interest and the perfect time to start is now.  Whether now is today, tomorrow or next year; there will never be a better time to start than now.  Now is actually a big part of Life.

Some may say that this is not a game and that is a poor analogy.  And if that is their feeling I’ll not disagree with them because in actuality it’s more like a Control Room.  A Career Control Room and the Web 2.0 sites are simply the instruments and the tools available to help maximize your energy.

Cool Hand Nuke is the place for your Career Control Room.  We will make sure that you have the best tools available so that you can maximize your efforts in as safe, efficient and effective manner as possible.

If you have not done so already, do take some time to check these sites out.  And while the Cool kids are doing it, it will be the early adopters and Cool Hands that take advantage get ahead.

Best wishes & Stay Cool!
